Join Us in Building a One-Room Bamboo Bungalow on a Permaculture Vegan Farm in Thailand!

Are you passionate about sustainable living and eager to learn bamboo construction? We invite you to join us on our self-sufficient permaculture vegan farm, where we’re building a room and furniture entirely out of bamboo—and we need your help!
This is more than just a workshop; it’s a chance to be part of a collaborative community. You’ll gain hands-on experience in bamboo construction and contribute to a project that emphasizes teamwork and shared learning.
What You’ll Do:
– Work together with like-minded individuals on constructing a one-room bamboo bungalow.
– Learn the process of bamboo construction from start to finish: from harvesting in the jungle, cutting the bamboo, treating and fermenting it for construction, making furniture, using mud, and more.
– Participate in 6-7 hours of the programme per day. You’ll get to enjoy your free time in the evening and on your day off. You can go for a walk/bicycle ride, do some handicrafts, read or do whatever you like.
– Experience communal and collaborative living, where everyone’s ideas and efforts are valued.

– Prior experience in construction is a strong advantage but not necessary—we’re looking for a willingness to learn and collaborate, and a strong interest in permaculture.
– Open-minded team players who enjoy working collaboratively and contributing to a collective goal.

Daily Schedule
- 7:00 – 8:00 AM: Breakfast
- 8:00 – 9:00 AM: Lecture/Discussion
- 9:00 – 11:00 AM: Work
- 11:00 – 11:30 AM: Break
- 11:30AM – 1:00PM: Work
- 1:00 – 2:00 PM: Lunch
- 2:00 – 2:30 PM: Break
- 2:30 – 5:00 PM: Work
- 5:00 – 7:00 PM: Break
- 7:00 PM: Dinner
There will be 6 hours of work per day and 1 hours of discussion.
Where:
Our farm is located in Mae Na Ruea, a village in the province of Phayao. It is in the Thai countryside, surrounded by nature and perfect for those looking to reconnect with the earth.
Accommodation
As a participant, you will have a simple accommodation on our beautiful farm. It includes mosquito nets and bedding. Please bring your own towel, toiletries, and torch (phone flash can also be used).
Getting To Haivaandee Farm:
If you come from Chiang Mai, the easiest is to take a bus in the direction of Phayao with Greenbus company. There is a stop about 10 km before Phayao, which is close to the farm and we can pick you up there. If you come from Chiang Rai or Bangkok and arrive to the central bus terminal, you can take a scooter taxi. The price will be around 200 bhat.
Internet service
We do not provide internet service/WiFi but there is good access via mobile.
Experience
Experience in building construction is preferred but not required. We are looking for participants who are seriously interested in permaculture.
Language
The workshop will be in English.
